PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a server device, a state quantity monitoring method, and the like allowing remote, easy and low-cost acquisition of a state quantity displayed on a display means. SOLUTION: Image data obtained by photographing a display means 210a is acquired by a server device 4 through a communication network 10, and the state quantity displayed on the display means 210a is recognized by the server device 4. The state quantity displayed on the display means 210a can thereby be monitored at the installed place of the server device 4 distant from the installed place of the display means 210a. The server device 4 can receive image data from a plurality of places distant from one another, through a communication network 10 and recognize each state quantity. Consequently, the state quantity of the display means 210a can be easily acquired at a low cost without needing to install a state quantity recognition device or the like for performing image processing or the like at every installed place of the display means 210a.
