<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parameter setting system for automatically setting a group of parameters required when a personal computer is connected by the use of a wireless LAN to the network of a connection object. <P>SOLUTION: An access point installed in the network of the connection object transmits a beacon 13 including an SSID code which is one parameter of the group of parameters. The personal computer 20 includes; an SSID extractor 14 for receiving the beacon via the wireless LAN and for extracting the SSID code; a network connection information file 17 including the group of parameters; a registry 19; and a parameter detector 16 which outputs, when the SSID code supplied from the SSID extractor 14 is matched with the one parameter of the group of parameters in the network connection information file 17, the group of parameters in the network connection information file 17 as detection parameters, and which writes the detected parameters as setting parameters into the registry 19. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
