<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk drive capable of keeping the light quantity of laser beams emitted from a laser diode constant. <P>SOLUTION: This optical disk drive is furnished with: a laser beam emitting means (11) for emitting the laser beams; a photoelectric conversion means (14) for photoelectrically converting the laser beams to output an electrical signal; an error detecting means (15a) for comparing the level of a reference electrical signal with the level of the aforementioned electrical signal to output an error signal; a driving means (15b) for driving the laser beam emitting means in accordance with the power supply voltage supplied from a power supply part and the error signal; and a power supply voltage control means (16) for making variable the power supply voltage supplied to the driving means from the power supply part for keeping the power consumption in the driving means constant in accordance with the operating state of the laser beam emitting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
