ON-VEHICLE RADAR, ITS INSPECTION METHOD AND VEHICLE-TO- VEHICLE DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle-to-vehicle distance measuring device capable of easily detecting the discrepancy of the outgoing direction of radar beams. SOLUTION: A radar sensor 110 emits radar beams at a first sweep angleα1 around the center 303 of a vehicle to measure a distance to a vehicle in front when measuring a vehicle-to-vehicle distance, and emits radar beams at a second sweep angleα2 slightly larger than the first sweep angleα1 when detecting eccentricity. A reflector 140 is installed on a radar cover 130, in a position outside the first sweep angleα1 and inside the second sweep angleα2. The radar sensor 110 detects reflected wave from the reflector 140 when detecting eccentricity, detects the direction of the reflector 140 and compares it with a prestored reference direction to inspect the outgoing direction of the radar beams.
