PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dustproof device for protecting a worker engaged in separating defective carrots mixed into normal carrots during conveying these carrots on a separating transfer conveyor from dust generated during harvesting the carrots so as not to inhale the dust or prevent the dust from falling on the worker. SOLUTION: The objective dustproof device comprises a dustproof cover 13 for protecting the worker (A) from inhaling dust generated during harvesting crops (carrots) (1) or a fan for sucking and discharging such dust, being located close to the worker (A). The leaves of the crops (carrots) (1) are cut off at specified points by leaf cutters 12 and 12, and on response to the dropping feed of the crops (1) thus freed from the leaves, during transferring them on the separating transfer conveyor 11 upwardly sideways, the worker (A) who stands behind the conveyor 11 separates and extracts defective crops (1).
