摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device in which brightness when observed from the approximately normal direction of a panel shifted from the surface reflection direction of the liquid crystal panel is improved and which enables a clear display. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device includes a liquid crystal panel 10 having a pair of substrates 17 and 28, a liquid crystal layer 15, a reflecting layer 31 and a directivity forward scattering diffraction film 18. When the angle of incidence to the normal H of the film 18 of incident light L1 incident on the film 18 from a natural lighting side is defined as &theta; and the diffraction angle to the normal H of the film 18 of diffracted light L6 diffracted when the incident light L1 is transmitted through the film 18 is defined as &alpha;, the film 18 is configured so that the incident light L1 and the diffracted light L6 satisfy a relation of &verbar;&alpha;&verbar;<&verbar;&theta;&verbar;.
