PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous casting tundish capable of providing a cast slab with less non-metallic inclusions and excellent cleanliness, and a continuous casting method using the tundish. SOLUTION: The tundish comprises a molten steel receiving part 4 for receiving the molten steel, a molten steel feeding part 5 for feeding the molten steel into a mold 3, and a flow passage 6 for connecting the molten steel receiving part 4 to the molten steel feeding part, and further comprises a magnetic field generator 7 for generating the static magnetic field on an outer circumferential part of the flow passage, a DC power source device for applying the direct current to the molten steel in the flow passage in the axial direction of the flow passage, and conduction electrodes, and the tundish is used for the continuous casing method.
