CONNECTING END STRUCTURE OF FLAT CABLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and accurately assemble the connecting end of a flat cable by requiring no work to insert a protrusion in a hole. SOLUTION: This connecting end structure comprises a flat cable terminal part 11a formed by exposing one surface of a conductor 21, a base member 12 to hold the flat cable terminal part 11a folded back with the exposed conductor surface 21a kept outside from the inside, and a housing 13 having a through hole 41 to pass through the flat part 31 of the base member 12 with the folded back terminal part 11a kept outside. A slit 23 is formed on the flat cable terminal part 11a by placing it along the conductor 21. A longitudinal groove 32 matching with the folded back slit 23 is formed on the upper surface 31a and the lower surface 31b of the flat part 31, and a protrusion 33 engaged with the slit 23 is provided on the front end surface 31c of the flat part 31 by turning it frontward from the bottom wall of the longitudinal groove 32. A projecting streak 44 to be engaged with the longitudinal groove 32 through the slit 23 is provided on the upper wall and the lower wall of the through hole 41 of the housing 13, and the end wall 23a of the slit 23 is locked by the end surface of the projecting streak 44.
