PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vocalization muting unit which makes it possible to easily practice vocalization, karaoke, etc., aloud in an ordinary residential environment without installing a sound insulating device nor putting others to trouble and is clean, safe, and practical. SOLUTION: The voice spoken from the throat and the oral cavity is picked up by a funnel type sound collecting device A, brought into contact by covering the mouth chin part deep without any hindrance to the opening/closing motion of the mouth chin part, so that a leakage sound is reduced as much as possible, and the picked-up voice is introduced into a handy cylindrical muting device B and reduced or muted. The user hears his or her spoken voice through a voice conduction pipe 8 or a sound processor at need before own vocalized sound is muted. Further, a noise meter is installed near the vocalization muting unit and the volume of a leakage sound is visually recognized from its displayed numeral or how the indicator of the meter deflects. After a practice, the cylindrical muting device 2 is divided into two and accumulated exhalation dew is removed, cleaned, and dried.
