PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently prepare a digital map from a paper maps having different contraction scales. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with polygon data 17 of an administration field; a read device 2 reading a plurality of paper maps and converting into digital map data; a contraction scale correction means 12 correcting each map data converted with the read device 2 into the same contraction scale; and synthetic processing means 13, 14 piling up the polygon data of the administration field on the map data corrected by the contraction scale correction means 12, clipping the range of the map in each administration field so as to correspond to the preparation body of each paper map, and arranging the clipped map data so as to correspond to the arrangement of the polygon data. A wide area large contraction map is prepared by combining a plurality of paper maps having different contraction scales. |
