PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet skewing correcting device allowing improvement of correcting performance of the sheet in a simple mechanism using no motor nor solenoid regardless of shape and size of a loop formed in the sheet during the skewing correction. SOLUTION: This sheet skewing correcting device comprises a pair of first conveying rollers 10, a pair of second conveying rollers 20 positioned on the downstream side, and a shutter 30 having an abutting surface 31 abutting on and locking with the tip of the sheet just before the tip of the sheet intrudes into nip parts of the pair of second conveying rollers. An axial central part of at least one of conveying rollers 11 and 12 constituting the pair of first conveying rollers has a linear contactable or point contactable shape with a sheet surface, and is disposed facing to the central part in the width direction of the conveyed sheet. The shutter can turn between a first attitude in which the shutter projects to a sheet conveying route to lock the tip of the sheet and a second attitude in which it turns and evacuates from the sheet conveying route, and is keep in the first attitude by an energizing means. When the shutter lies in the first attitude, the tip of the sheet is locked to correct the skewing of the sheet.
