PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alarming device for an electric vehicle that makes it possible to notify a driver without fail of the state that a driving motor is overloaded, i.e., in an driving condition in which overheat can be predicted. SOLUTION: The torque of a motor that generates driving force of a vehicle is detected by a motor torque detecting means (S10). An alarming means is designed to raise the alarm (S18) when the motor torque is within a given motor torque range in which the overheat of the motor can be predicted if the vehicle continues to be driven by that torque (S12).
