PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission system that transmits data streams by using plural layers including layers A and B. SOLUTION: Carriers, in a frequency relation orthogonal to each other by each symbol time in each of layers, are modulated by two data streams or more among a plurality of data streams. Each transmitter has one modulation section or more, that modulates the carrier by using each data stream respectively sent in layers A and B, while changing a signal point number assigned on a space diagram and also has an inverse Fourier transform section that applies inverse Fourier transformation to an output of the modulation section to convert it into a time axis. A 1st data stream of the layer A among data streams transmitted in the layer A includes demodulation information to demodulate a modulation signal modulating the data streams other than the 1st data stream in the layer A, and a 1st data stream of the layer B among data streams transmitted in the layer B includes demodulation information to demodulate a modulation signal modulating the data streams which are other than the 1st data stream in the layer B, and each transmitter transmits the data stream with a difference between the symbol time of the layer B and a symbol time of the layer A.
