PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling an image forming device capable of preventing an abnormal image due to the abnormal cleaning of a corona discharge means used in the image forming device and realizing the improvement of the operation rate and the reduction of service cost of the image forming device by accurately judging the state of the abnormal cleaning caused in the corona discharge means and performing appropriate processing. SOLUTION: The image forming device is provided with stopping position sensors 84 and 85 for a cleaning member moving means, an overcurrent detecting circuit 102 for a driving means, a fusing detection circuit 104, an output voltage detection circuit 106 and a time measuring circuit 103 for measuring a cleaning time, and a driving current supplied to a motor 82 is controlled on the basis of detected data obtained from the detection means and time measuring data. The occurrence of the abnormal cleaning and the cause of the abnormality are displayed on a display device. |
