PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic vending machine which can precisely control the temperature distribution in a box by making the flow passage resistance of air from a heating and cooling unit uniform in an article storage part. SOLUTION: Many openings 35' are bored in a flank plate 35' of the article storage part 35, passages 48 and 48' for air are formed between the article storage part 35 and a side wall part 45 or heat-insulating partition plate 16 of the box respectively, and those openings 35'a and passages 48 and 48' are used as an air circulation guide means to circulate the air from respective heating and cooling units 33X to 33Z arranged at the lower part in the box L' through the mentioned air circulation guide means by fans 63X to 63Z having their axes along the length of articles, so that the air in the article storage part 35 flows along the length of the articles. Consequently, the flow passage resistance of the air in the article storage part 35 pan be made uniform, and consequently the temperature distribution in the box can precisely be controlled.
