PURPOSE: A deflection yoke for CRT is provided to enhance features of upward and downward raster distortion on a screen by manufacturing a ferrite core with a ratio of the vertical axis about the traverse axis being 3.1/4 to 5/4. CONSTITUTION: A deflection yoke for CRT has horizontal/vertical deflecting coils(31,32) for deflecting electron beams, a ferrite core(33) for reducing magnetic force loss of a vertical magnetic deflection to enhance magnetic efficiency, a holder for locating the deflection coils(31,32) and the ferrite core(33) and insulating the horizontal/vertical deflection coils(31,32), and a convergence yoke installed in a neck side of the holder and mechanically coupled to a funnel by a ring band. The ferrite core(33) has a ratio of the vertical axis in respect to the traverse axis being 3.1/4 to 5.4 about the tubular axis up to a square shaped opening area extended from a middle portion to a panel side.
