PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric converting element and a photoelectric converting device which can be operated at high speed. SOLUTION: This photoelectric conversion device is provided with a light- receiving part and a transfer part, which transfers the charge stored in the light-receiving part to a read-out part, and the light-receiving part has the impurity concentration gradient so that potential becomes lower as it approaches the transfer part. It is desirable that the light-receiving part be an embedded photodiode 101. As a result, the signal charge can be completely transferred from a light-receiving part to a read-out part in a short time, and the photoelectric conversion device using the element can be operated at a high speed, and a residual image is not generated even if the size of the light-receiving part is increased.
