PURPOSE: A method of designing equivalent distributing reservoir for water supply system is provided to achieve improvements enabling establishment of master plan for water operation involving the water level of the reservoir and the volume of the discharge of water. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises the steps of setting the sum of the volume of a plurality of distributing reservoirs as a volume of equivalent distributing reservoir, setting the height of the representative distributing reservoir from among reservoirs having a remote measuring instrument as a height of equivalent distributing reservoir, setting a cross sectional area of equivalent distributing reservoir by dividing the set volume by the set height, set a water level of equivalent distributing reservoir by collecting the measured value of the water level from the reservoirs having a remote measuring instrument and multiplying volume ratio and water level ratio, and setting the volume of the water discharge of equivalent distributing reservoir as a plan discharge ratio when the measured value of the water discharge is collected from the reservoirs having a remote measuring instrument.
