<p>A deodorizing fiber which effectively eliminates body odors, especially a perspiratory odor, etc., and has satisfactory resistance to laundering (durability); and a process for producing deodorizing fibers which imparts an excellent deodorizing effect to natural fibers, synthetic fibers, or a cloth obtained by knitting or weaving these fibers, such as underwear, while maintaining satisfactory resistance to laundering (durability). The process is characterized by treating fibers with a treating fluid containing chitosan and/or a modified chitosan, a carboxylic acid polymer, zinc oxide, and a binder resin. The deodorizing fiber is characterized by having a coating layer of a water-resistant binder containing chitosan, a carboxylic acid polymer, and zinc oxide.</p> |
