PURPOSE: A substrate coupling unit for a piezoelectric transformer is provided to reduce a vibration damping of a piezoelectric body, to reduce a fabrication cost, and to improve productivity. CONSTITUTION: A piezoelectric transformer(1) includes a piezoelectric body(10) having input terminals(12a,12b) formed on both opposing sides thereof and output terminals(14) formed on the other sides. When the piezoelectric transformer(1) is disposed above and coupled to a substrate(30) having input and output terminals(32a,32b), a substrate coupling unit including supporting members(40) and coupling members(50) is used. The supporting members(40) use straight or bending rods to respectively connect with both the piezoelectric body(10) and the substrate(30) at points(P1,P2) by bonding materials(20a,20b), whereas the coupling members(50) use lead wires(50a) or bending rods. A longitudinally vibrating displacement is minimized at the points(P1,P2), and the input terminals(12a,12b,32a) are disposed at the point(P1). Therefore, a vibration damping of the piezoelectric body(10) is reduced.
