PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial satellite capable of changing a heat radiation area as desired regardless of the size of a body structure of the satellite, and adjusting heat radiation quantity in accordance with heat generation quantity of mounted equipment. SOLUTION: A freely expanding heat radiation surface 5 installed on a heat radiation head 55 is reciprocated along a shaft of a spiral screw 53 by rotating the spiral screw 53 coupled with a rotation shaft of a stepping motor 52. The heat radiation surface 5 is expanded/contracted by this reciprocation to change a heat radiation area.
