PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device operated in first and second operation modes including a dispatch operation mode and a telephone operation mode. SOLUTION: The device 100 is provided with a main body 124 provided with an upper surface 126 and a cover 102. The cover 102 is selectively moved between at least a first position for covering at least a part of the upper surface 126 so as to perform a selecting operation in a dispatch mode and at least a second position for exposing the upper surface 126 so as to perform the selecting operation in the telephone operation mode. The cover 102 is provided with a see-through part 108 for covering at least a part of a display part 114 when the cover 102 is at the first position so as to protect the display part 114 and simultaneously access the display part. Also, the cover 102 is provided also with a through access key 106 for performing access to a key pad 116 even when the cover 102 is closed.
