METHOD FOR CONTROLLING INDEPENDENT SOFT HAND OFF IN REVERSE DIRECTION LINK

PURPOSE: A method for controlling an independent soft hand off in a reverse direction link is provided to improve a call quality of the reverse direction link in a Code Division Multiple Access(CDMA) cellular communication system. CONSTITUTION: A control of an independent soft hand off in a reverse direction link includes; a mobile station and a base station called at the moment measuring a strength of a signal(SMS) of the mobile station for comparing the measured strength of the signal with an initiation threshold(ST) set beforehand; and the mobile station and the base station called at the moment reporting the strength of the signal of the mobile station to the call treating process in case of a less strength of the signal of the mobile station than the initiation threshold.
