PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate correcting by inputting pieces of correction data like a 1st and a 2nd candidate corresponding to an unreadable character in order to correct data. SOLUTION: A correction control part 10 displays correction screen data with screen layout data of a document format information part 15 and document data in a document data management part 11 when an unreadable character is included in the document data, and registers pieces of input data as correction input data in a correction input data (storage) part 13. The correction control part 10 checks the document data by a data checking means 14. The data checking means 14 retrieves field data in the document data by a document format information part 15 to search for a field to be checked. After a character in the field is retrieved a set data check is made and if an error is found, data of 2nd order in a correction input data part 13 are read out to store the character at the corresponding place. When this check result is not an error it is data correction data of 2nd order.
