PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an applicator capable of applying a treating solution to a fabric in a practically low deposit rate with avoiding waste of the treating solution and waste of drying heat energy, dissolving a tendency of reduction in application rate of the treating solution from an objective value and ensuring accuracy of the action of a primary liquid-squeezing roller. SOLUTION: In this applicator, a sponge roller 1 capable of rotating with dipping its lower peripheral surface in a treating solution 5, a liquid-squeezing roller 2 contacting on the upstream region of the surface of the roller 1 outward of the treating solution 5 and capable of adjusting a contact pressure, a liquid- squeezing roller 3 contacting to the peripheral surface of the roller 1 at a position out of the treating solution in the down stream of the roller 2 and capable of being adjusted its contact pressure and a pressing roller 30 contacting to the peripheral surface of the roller 1 at a position dipped in the treating solution are installed. The treating solution is applied by passing a fabric F between the roller 1 and the roller 3 and the pressing pressure of the roller 1 to the roller 3 is automatically controlled by a regulator 12 so that the rate of application of the treating solution to the fabric has an objective value.
