<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a printing speed by selecting one printing area from data of a range of a plurality of printing areas, and erasing and printing according to a range of the selected printing area. SOLUTION: A type of an issuing rewritable card 1 is selected by operating a selection switch 7. When a controller 8 judges that this card is a rewritable card (1b), the controller 8 controls a thermal head 3 and a conveying motor 5 to erase and print only on a part having a printing area 2. If the card 1a is selected by the switch 7, the controller 8 erases and prints an overall surface of the card. If the card having a different size of the printing area is issued and the card having no printing area on the overall surface of the card is issued, only a part having the printing area is erased and printed, and hence its printing speed is improved to prevent a deterioration of the card.</p> |
