PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the free end of a plate-like member from getting wavy and to prevent image defect such as a vertical stripe and irregular density on an output image from occurring by constituting a device so that a developer layer forming means may apply tension to the plate-like member in a tangential direction coming in contact with a developer carrying and feeding means. SOLUTION: This device is constituted so that the developer layer forming member 302 may apply the tension to the plate-like member in the tangential direction coming in contact with the developer carrying and feeding means 301. The member 302 is the plate-like member made of NBR, and press-contacts with the means 301 with the linear pressure of 15 to 30g/cm, that is, force per unit length along the shaft of the means 301. The position of the center of a press-contact area between the rubber surface of the member 302 and the means 301 on the means from the upper part of a vertical line toward an upstream side in the rotating direction A of the means 301. |
