PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device which obtains a satisfactory image without causing scatter even in long term use. SOLUTION: When image formation is not carried out, a scraper 5 which is normally in contact with a developer regulator 1a is separated from it for a specific length of time, and hard-to-be-electrified toner, paper powder, and so on remaining in a developing container 3a are carried by the developer regulator 1a. They are scraped off by the cleaning blade 21a of a developer- regulator cleaner 21, and recovered into a recovery container 21b. This process is carried out, for example, every time ten or twenty thousands sheets are developed. |
