[Class 108 (ii).] The frame is arranged at or below the wheel centres and comprises inner longitudinal members 3 placed between the wheels and outer side members 4 arranged' with a distance between them at least equal to the wheel track, the inner and outer members being connected by transverse members 5, 6 arranged behind the front wheels and in front of the rear wheels, and by a bottom plate 9 forming an under-shield and floor. The side members 4 may be of U-section with the open side facing outwards and with a cover for the space between the flanges. The wheels 1, 2 are each independently mounted on arms 11 supported by transverse bearings from the transverse frame members 5, 6. The outer ends of the shafts 12 to which the arms 11 are secured are provided with connections 13 to springs 14 which extend between the flanges of the outer frame members 4. The bottom plate 9 may be of sheet metal which may be further covered by sheets of stiff heat-insulating materials. The frame structure may. also serve as a frame for the body. |
