Glass fibre articles with raised slip-resistance and mat appearance, for use as curtains, are produced by impregnating desized glass articles with aqs. dispersion containing 10-200 g/l silicic acid or its esters (ethyl silicate), 2-50 g/l cation-active organic Cr or Al complex, pref. derived from unsaturated carboxylic acids, and a stabiliser, optionally 10-200 g/l plastic or elastomer dispersion, and 1-50 g/l white pigment; or with a solution of Si halides, such as SiCl4; or with an aqs. dispersion containing 20-150 g/l condensed ester silicates, 5-50 g/l solution or dispersion of an ester silicate of (in) organic acids which can contain organo-functional groups and/or 10-100 g/l plastic or elastomer dispersion optionally with white pigment; and if necessary the treated fabrics are washed with water.
