PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switch assembly that is suitable for fiber management system in which optical switches are integrated in the fiber management system excellent in space efficiency concerning the physical existence of the optical switch and the flow of an optical lead interconnecting the optical switches. SOLUTION: A fiber distribution shelf 14 where optical switches are contained in a shelf structure constitutes a part of an optical fiber management system. In the optical fiber management system, optical switches 30 of various steps are used for interconnecting optical fibers 52 terminated in the fiber distribution shelf 14 in the system to an optical time domain reflection measurement device (OTDR). The specific configuration is provided to reduce remarkably the size of the entire optical fiber management system and its complexity by containing the entire stepping switches 30 in the shelf structure of the fiber distribution shelf.
