PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of wear due to running of the edge part in the lateral direction of a conveyor belt over a deviation detecting ring. SOLUTION: In a conveyor belt B which is run over the taper run-over surface 38b of a deviation detecting ring 37 supported rotatably independently from a control roller 11 on one shaft end part of the controller 11 and deviation in the lateral direction of which is detected through rotation of the deviation detecting ring 37 due to the running-over, the edge part b1 on one end side in the lateral direction running over the taper running-over surface 38b of the deviation detecting ring 37 forms a slope having an inclination angle adjusted to approximately the same value as the inclination angleα2 of the taper running-over 38b of the deviation detecting ring 37.
