The degradation of triamcinolone acetonide in aqueous solutions is studied under accelerated storage conditions of 70 DEG C over the pH range 1-10. Trace level metal ions can markedly accelerate the oxidative degradation in neutral and basic solutions, but pH conditions and/or the inclusion of metal-sequestering agents, such as ethylenediamine tetra acetate (EDTA), in a preparation depresses the metal catalysis.
