A screw decanter centrifuge (51) wherein a cylindrical bowl (8) is rotated in one direction by a main drive motor (58), and wherein a screw conveyor (13) is disposed concentrically in the bowl, is rotated in the same direction as that of the bowl with a differential speed, and is rotated through a flange coupling by an induction motor (52) which is controlled by a speed-torque controller (53).
