PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a servo mechanism having high accuracy and powerful error correcting technique by physically or electrically displacing a laser beam to be cast from an optical head at a spherical center without rotating a recording surface. CONSTITUTION:Recording of information is executed by irradiating a recording surface 30 with a strong beam RB from the optical head 40 and boring the recording layer focused to the recording surface 30 with microholes. The continuous recording onto a track TRK is executed by rotating the optical head 40 at a prescribed speed in an arrow (a) direction (Y-axis direction) along a Y-axis and moving beam RB on the respective points A, B, C on the recording surface and the track TRK l. Reproduction of the information is executed by irradiating the recording surface with the beam RB focused thereto from the optical head 40, making the focus coincident and detecting the various intensities or interferences of the reflected light thereof by a detecting mechanism disposed on the optical head 40. |
