PURPOSE: To make information displayed on limited picture element display to be more clearly conspicuous. CONSTITUTION: The groups of custom fonts which can easily be discriminated from the font of standard display and which can visually be identified are provided. All the groups use the picture element matrix of reduced size for showing characters. Four columns in a vertical line and size columns in a lateral line at maximum, namely, 4×6 matrixes 17 and 18 are used for custom font character display. Thus, 19, 20, 21 and 22 in vertical/lateral lines in 5×7 picture element matrixes 23 and 24 used for the standard font are not used. The added custom font executes the background display decoration of an inverted video, an underline and an enclosing frame by using one column at each vertical line and lateral line, which are not used for generating the character. The custom font is substituted for an extension ASCII character. |
