PURPOSE:To provide a black recording solution which contains specific coloring matters and an aqueous medium, is suitable for ink jet recording, realizes high printing quality even in printing on common paper with recorded images of increased concentration, has high water resistance and fives excellent color tones of recorded images. CONSTITUTION:The recording solution comprises (A) a coloring matter whose free-acid form represented by the formula (A is phenyl or naphtyl which may be substituted with sulfo and/or carboxy groups; B is sulfo, a 1 to 4C alkyl; R1 to R4 are H, a 1 to 18C alkyl where at least one of R1 to R4 groups shows a group substituted with carboxyl; n is 0 or 1) and (B) and aqueous medium. The coloring matter of the formula is obtained, for example, by forming a monoazo compound from 3-aminobenzoic acid and 2,5-diethoxyaniline in a usual manner converting it into a disazo compound using 7-amino-1-hydroxy-3- naphthalenesulfonic acid, then allowing the disazo compound to react with suspended cyanuric chloride, and effecting the condensation reactions of the product with 3-aminobenzoic acid and n-hexylamine in order. |
