The invention relates to a device for supplying air to the passenger compartment of vehicles, which device has a central nozzle for direct discharge of air and a large, perforated air-exit surface which covers an air duct on one side and is intended for diffuse distribution of air, as well as an air-distributor box to which the central nozzle and air duct are connected. In order to obtain a compact structural shape and sufficiently draught-free direct and diffuse ventilation even at relatively low fan power, on the one hand the air-exit surface for diffuse ventilation is formed by the top side of the dashboard and, on the other hand, a pivotable, perforated damper is provided in such a manner in the air-distributor box that said damper alternately completely covers the connection openings for the air duct and central nozzle.
