VOLTAGE BALANCE CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR ELECTRIC DOUBLE LAYER CAPACITOR

PURPOSE:To provide a voltage balance control circuit for electric double layer capacitor which charges a plurality of laminated electric double layer capacitor cells while balancing depending on the withstanding voltage of each cell. CONSTITUTION:Laminated capacitor units 3-1-3-N in an electric double layer capacitor are connected sequentially in parallel with laminated battery units 1-1-1-N having withstand voltage lower than that of the capacitor unit while setting forward direction of diodes in series circuits of diodes 6-l1-6-N and resistors 5-1-5-N from the capacitor unit toward the battery unit. Since each capacitor unit is charged with same voltage as that of the battery units connected in parallel, the capacitor units are charged while being balanced depending on the withstanding voltage thereof. Since current does not always flow into the resistor at the time of charging nor discharge current always flow into the resistor at the time of discharge, charging efficiency is enhanced and heat loss is reduced.
