LIGHT-DIFFUSING METHACRYLIC RESIN

摘要

PURPOSE:To economically obtain the title resin having an excellent balance between light transmittance and light diffusion by adding fine silicone particles along with spherical fine particles of a specific crosslinked polymer. CONSTITUTION:The resin contains (I) spherical fine particles of a crosslinked polymer obtained by polymerizing a benzene derivative containing at least 2 polymerizable double bonds per molecule with one or more monomers copolymerizable therewith which particles have an average particle diameter of 5-20mum and (II) fine silicone particles having an average particle diameter of 1-20mum, the content of the sum of the particles (I) and (II) being 0.1-50wt.%. Divinylbenzene is especially preferred as the benzene derivative because it is industrially used widely and is inexpensive. The resin has a good balance between total light transmittance and light diffusion and hence has advantages of a smaller diffuser amount necessary for the resin, etc.
