APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR EVALUATING SKIN FRICTION

PURPOSE: To obtain an apparatus which can evaluate well the surface friction of a wheeled vehicle under operation well. CONSTITUTION: Measurements of wheel speed are compared, in order to detect and undue wheel spin. Outputs from wheel spin detectors 3-10 are delivered to means 20 for decelerating the driving of vehicle, in response to the detection of an undue wheel spin. A decelerated driving of vehicle is compared with a predetermined value by a subtractor 24. Evaluation of the surface friction is updated by a value which depends on the output of the subtractor 24.
