OF THE DICLOSURE An arrangement for coupling at least one ultrasonic sensor to an article to be tested by a liquid coupling medium in a piece-by-piece automatic ultrasonic testing of strips,sheets, and pipes. The sensor is positioned along a testing path at a constant distance away from the article by a holder. a separate free jet of coupling medium is positioned at a side of the sensor in a plane crossing the testing path and including a central axis of a sound emission surface. A layer of coupling medium is formed between the sound emission surface and the surface of the article by the jet. The jet is free of contact with the sensor, and is aimed substantially at a gap between the sound emission surface and the surface of the article to be tested. |
