<p>PURPOSE: To provide a process for reclamation of thermally strained polyester scrap material for re-use in production of high-quality PET plastic products. CONSTITUTION: Reclaiming of polyester waste comprises shredding, cleaning, sorting, and postcondensing of the waste materials. The shredded scrap material comprises polyester waste materials of various molecular weights and invert ratio. The shredded materials are molten and filtered. The filtered molten material is post-condensed in the molten state and then granulated or is first granulated and subjected to post-condensation in the solid phase. The granules obtained in each case are fed into an extruder and extruded together with virgin raw material.</p> |
