The present invention relates to an apparatus for producing three-dimensional solid articles by superposition of successive layers, comprising, in combination: a fixed table (1) intended to support the article to be produced; a movable box (2) which slides vertically with respect to the said table due to the action of jacks (3); a carriage (10) moving over the movable box (2); the said carriage (10) comprising a hopper with, in its lower part, a continuous slot of constant width; two obturating strips which may be moved one with respect to the other so as to obturate the slot at least partially, and to leave, between their ends, an opening which corresponds to the horizontal section of the volume of curable liquid matter contained in the hopper which it is desired to deposit in order to produce a layer of the article in the process of being manufactured. The invention also relates to a method for producing such articles, and to the three-dimensional article thus obtained. <IMAGE>
