PURPOSE:To provide a bright and easily visible color display by forming spacers to the same hues as the hues of color filters. CONSTITUTION:The red, green and blue color filters 2R, 2G, 2B are formed in correspondence to respective picture elements on a transparent substrate 1. On the other hand, the red, green and blue spacers 10R, 10G, 10B are selectively disposed in compliance with the respective hues of the color filters 2R, 2G, 2B on the transparent substrate 6. The spacers 10R of the same hue as the hue of, for example, the color filters 2R are attracted onto prescribed electrodes 7 by a positive and negative potential relation if the spacers 10R are sprayed into the substrate 6 by applying a positive potential to these spacers and a negative potential to the electrodes 7 facing the color filters 2R. A series of the process is excecuted in the spacers 10G, 10B. Thus' the color light transmission on the color filter 2 increases and becomes bright by using reversely the light scatter effect of the spacer 10 as the color of the adjacent color filter 2 and the spacer 10 are same. |
