PREPARATION OF RELIEFLIKE DECORATIVE CARD

PURPOSE:To sharply transfer fine patterns to the surface of a foil composed of a noble metal or the like by laminating transparent plastic to the single surface of a foil of a noble metal, a foil of a metal hard to generate rust or a foil prepared by plating or cladding the surface of the metal foil with a noble metal and laminating a plate formed by etching or engraving to the non-laminated surface of the foil and subjecting the whole to emboss-processing under pressure. CONSTITUTION:For example, gold is rolled into a thickness of 15mum by a six-stage roll and the rolled foil is cut into a a 18cm wide by 25.5cm long dimension to form a gold foil 1 having a B-5 size. Next, a polyethylene sheet 2 of 100mum is bonded to the single surface of the gold foil 2 under heating and pressure to form a single surface laminated sheet 3. Subsequently, the surface of the gold foil 1 of the single surface laminated sheet 3 is superposed on a copper embossed plate 4 having a B-5 size to which a portrait is formed by photoengraving and a polyethylene sheet 5 having thickness of 1mm is superposed on the polyethylene sheet 2 of the single surface laminated sheet 3 as a cushion material and the whole is set to the base 6 of a hydraulic press and held under pressure of 300 ton at room temp. for 10sec and the patterns of the copper embossed plate 4 are transferred to the gold foil 1 to prepare a relief like decorative card.
