PURPOSE:To enable connection of a camera to a video having the specification of 1125 scan lines, by having a video signal conversion circuit which generates a video signal having the different number of scan lines from the number of scan lines of an output signal of a video signal circuit. CONSTITUTION:Based on digital data 14 written in, the data corresponding to one scan line are read out in a serial output register 22 incorporated in RAM 21. The data for one scan are read out in the serial output register 22 by a STROBE' signal 17a having about twice as many frequencies (1125/525) as a STROBE signal for NTSC and are inputted to a D/A converter 13. In addition to these data, a SYNC' signal 15a synchronized in timing with a video signal having 1125 scan lines, a BLANK' signal 16a and the STROBE' signal 17a are inputted to the D/A converter 13, and the video signal 11 having 1125 scan lines are synthesized by these signals and outputted.
