Engine diagnosis method using temp. chamber sensitive element - to measure combustion chamber temp. at indication of engine load

The method involves determining at least one parameter of an internal combustion engine with at least one combustion chamber. A temp. sensitive element is connected to the combustion chamber. The engine load is determined from the combustion chamber temp. A glow plug with temp. dependent internal resistance is used to measure the chamber temp. The engine load is compared with reference values in order to produce an engine diagnosis. The reference values are pref. determined from the amount of fuel injected or gear lever position. USE/ADVANTAGE - For investigation of engine load, power, irregularity etc. Uses existing engine components as sensor.
