<p>The method and machine allow the continuous stripping off of the fibrous husks of a large number of coconuts. The coconut is placed on the main axis of the machine (20) surrounded by several pairs of knives (15A, 15B). Each knife moves translationally so that it penetrates the husk up to the coconut's shell (4), and rotates around a rotational axis (23) which is unique to each pair of knives, the upper (15A) and lower (15B) knives being rotated in opposite directions so as to strip lobes of husk (17) from the shell (4). The way in which the knives (15A, 15B) are driven is determined by the shape of two cams.</p> |
