PURPOSE:To provide the additionally higher-density optical disk by using an org. dyestuff medium which allows recording and reproducing by a laser beam in a flattening layer. CONSTITUTION:The optical disk 10 is formed by successively laminating the flattening layer 14, a magneto-optical recording medium layer 16 and a protective film 18 on a disk substrate 12. The substrate 12 is formed by spirally or concentrically fixing a metallic reflecting material 22 to a glass substrate 20. The layer 14 is constituted of a 1st film 14a and a 2nd film 14b and the film 14a is formed by supplying and applying the org. dyestuff dissolved in a solvent onto the substrate while rotating the substrate 12 in the state of positioning the reflecting material 22 side thereof to face upward. Reading out of recording and writing of recording are executed with such disk 10 by irradiating the layer 16 with a semiconductor laser beam of, for example, 8,300Angstrom wavelength through the substrate 12. The recording and reproducing are executed by irradiating the layer with the Ar laser beam of 5,410Angstrom wavelength in the case of using a fulgide compd. as the layer 14 consisting of the org. dyestuff. |
